Driver &
Passenger
Policies.
- The driver must have a current, valid U.S. or State or International drivers license, be at least 25 years of age, and be able to drive a 5-speed manual transmission.
- If a passenger is under the age of 18, considered a minor, then the driver must be the Parent/Guardian of the passenger.
- All riders should wear a helmet at all times, which are available from us. This is not required by Florida State Law, but is highly encouraged.
- The driver is required to purchase state-mandated minimum liability insurance from our insurance provider, MBA Insurance, for $15.00 per day and is not included in the rental rate. This insurance is mandatory and may be purchased within 7 days of the rental pick-update. For instructions to purchase, view our Rental Insurance Page
- If for any reason the Slingshot gets damaged, the amount needed for the repair will be deducted out of the security deposit.
Mandatory Insurance.
Rental Insurance may be purchased within 7 days of your reserved pick-up date, no sooner. Coverage is for 24-hrs and costs $15.
After completing your online booking, we will e-mail you our MBA Insurance policy number. Next, you'll follow these steps:
- Go to www.MBAmotorcycle.com
- Enter our policy number
- Select Yes, Sarasota Slingshots LLC, is my Rental Operator
- Select the pick-up date to begin coverage and pick up time
- Select the drop-off date (Insurance is only good for a 24-hr span)
- Select if you’d like to purchase supplemental liability insurance (SLI) or Personal Accident Insurance PAI/PEI (Motorcycle & Slingshots only)*SLI increases your liability up to $300,000 and property damage up to $10,000. This is for damage you, the renter, could potentially cause to someone else or their property.

Cancellation, Late, No-Show Policies.
- Cancellations must be submitted 72 hours prior to pickup time via phone or e-mail and there will be no charge for this. Your $1000 pre-authorization hold will be released and you will not be charged.
- Cancellations made within the 72 hours window are subject to the full rental period charge per the rental booking. If the cancellation is made within 24 hours of your pick-up, the full rental period charge plus a cancellation fee of $30.00 will apply.
- If you do not show up to rent the vehicle or if cancellation is made after the pick-up time, you must pay for the full rental period at the rental rate per your reservation. Any early returns may be a subject to a full charge as per reservation.
- What if I'm late? The vehicle will be held for up to 30 minutes after the reservation time. Late returns are $75. Please note all of the extra charges and applicable fees will be charged on renter's credit card on file.
